Highlights
The Hub now asks you to review and accept a license agreement before first use, and asks again whenever the agreement is updated.
First-launch setup can no longer be skipped past. Welcome, the license, crash reporting and usage analytics each need an explicit answer before you reach the app.
Freeform sessions hand off your view. Opening a new session on a profile that already has one running starts from that session's zoom and position instead of resetting.
The combined "Clutch Navigation / Slow motion" shortcut is retired, and plain clutch navigation is now available to more users.
A design pass across the app — icon-only status badges, redesigned shortcut and number inputs, keyboard-navigable tab strips, and a proper pending state on action buttons.
New features
License and first launch
A License Agreement page shows the current agreement, with Download PDF and, when the agreement is hosted online, a View License link. You can reopen it any time from Settings → Privacy.
Acceptance is required to use the Hub. The agreement carries its own date; when that date changes, the Hub asks you to accept again once per session before you continue. _This is a new step for everyone upgrading — the Hub will pause on it the first time you launch 1.3.0._
Your consent choices are asked, not assumed. Crash reporting and usage analytics are answered during setup rather than defaulted silently. _Setup can no longer be skipped: the Skip button is hidden, keyboard shortcuts do nothing, and clicking outside the dialog will not dismiss it until every required step has an answer._
Freeform
Shared Navigation. A new session joining a profile that already has one running inherits that session's zoom and position, instead of starting from the default view. Nothing is saved to disk, and the shared view ends when the last session closes. _This is on by default for Freeform users; if you prefer new sessions to start from the default view, turn Shared Navigation off in the session config panel — you will need experimental features enabled to see the toggle._
Clutch navigation without unlocking Freeform. Turning on experimental features is now enough, and the shortcut genuinely engages rather than only appearing in the list.
Improvements
Status badges in the footer's Details panel are icon-only, with clearer mode labels.
The Shortcuts and Freeform Settings panes were redesigned. The trigger-type list now reads "VerseGrip button press" and "VerseGrip button sequence" instead of "VerseGrip button" and "Gesture"; the button-sequence trigger fits on one line; and the "Allow everywhere" choice has an explanatory tooltip.
Key-combination fields show their example as dimmed, outlined keys when empty, so an example is never mistaken for a real binding — and Reset now clears the field instead of committing the example as a real value.
A shortcut that cannot currently run explains why, instead of sitting silently inactive.
Tab strips can be driven from the keyboard with the arrow keys, and support icons and tooltips on individual tabs.
Action buttons show a proper pending state while something is in flight.
Settings → Privacy is reorganised and links to the License Agreement.
The bundled device service is now 3.5.5.
Fixes
Bugs that were present in 1.2.0 and are resolved in 1.3.0:
The Events page's filter tabs no longer overlap the Pause and Clear buttons in a narrow window — the tab row wraps instead.
Dropdowns render correctly. The closed control no longer loses its background fill, and open options no longer change text colour depending on which one is selected.
The VerseGrip device-configuration screen is no longer shipped as dead controls. It has never had firmware or service support behind it, so it is now hidden unless you deliberately turn on experimental features, and says plainly that it is non-operational when shown. _If you went looking for that tab, it has not been removed — it never did anything, and it is now honest about that._
The copy button's pressed state and focus outline use the correct accent colour.
Changes to existing behaviour
Shortcuts bound to "Clutch Navigation / Slow motion" are removed on upgrade, not merely disabled. The Hub deletes the binding the first time 1.3.0 launches. Rebind to "Clutch navigation" for the workspace freeze — slow-motion precision has no replacement.
"Allow everywhere" now needs both Freeform and experimental features. In 1.2.0, unlocking Freeform was enough. If the toggle has disappeared, enable experimental features in Settings → Features; your existing per-shortcut choices are unchanged.
Deprecations
"Clutch Navigation / Slow motion" is retired and no longer appears when choosing an action. Use "Clutch navigation" for the workspace freeze.
Slow-motion precision is removed outright. The separate slow-motion action was already withdrawn from the picker in 1.2.0; in 1.3.0 any shortcut still bound to it is removed as well.
Known issues
Mount rotation can stay wrong after an Inkwell recalibration. If you change the device's physical orientation and then recalibrate on the Inkwell, the workspace can keep its old heading in any simulation. _This is not new in 1.3.0 — it has behaved this way since mount rotation was introduced in 1.1.0, and it affects Inverse3 devices on firmware 7.7 or newer. A permanent fix is in development._
Two ways to clear it, in order of ease. Unplug and replug the device, then calibrate again — this needs nothing turned on, because the rotation is held in the device's memory until it loses power. _If you would rather not unplug, you can reset the rotation in the app instead._
Resetting in the app needs three switches, not one. Turn on Settings → Features → Show advanced settings, then Settings → Features → Enable experimental features — that row only appears once the first is on, and it asks you to consent. Open your device from the Overview page, go to its Settings tab, and find Mount Rotation. Finally, click the red Experimental badge next to the Mount Rotation heading and consent again. Reset rotation only responds once all three are on. _MinVerse has no Mount Rotation section, so this does not apply to it._
